Savaria is a leader in wheelchair lifts for home and commercial use
One of our first products was a wheelchair lift and since then, Savaria wheelchair lifts have been installed in thousands of homes, public buildings and commercial businesses.
Wheelchair lifts come in different forms including vertical platforms or inclined platforms, unenclosed, enclosures, or lifts that are installed inside a hoistway. All wheelchair lifts use constant pressure (push-to-run) buttons and meet either other code requirements depending on where they are sold and where they are installed.

Savaria Vertical Platform Lifts Product Line
Vertical platform lifts (VPLs) are versatile lifts that can installed inside or outside and move vertically with a platform large enough to accommodate a wheelchair user. Unenclosed VPLs are common as home products and often called deck or porch lifts as this is their most common point of access into a home. Savaria makes enclosure VPLs, which are most commonly used outdoor with the added weather protection of the enclosure. Certain VPLs can be installed inside a hoistway. When installed in a shaftway, a VPL can service more travel and more than two stops.

Savaria Inclined Platform Lifts Product Line
Often used when a vertical platform lift cannot be installed due to space reasons, an IPL (inclined platform lift) can be installed outdoor in moderate climates, or inside. IPLs offer accessibility on demand because they compactly fold up at the bottom or top of the stairs, allowing the stairs to be used by others when the lift is not in use. They can also be installed on the wall beside the stairs with reinforcement in the wall.

A word about outdoor use
Many of our wheelchair lifts can be installed outdoors and are weather-tough. But outdoor weather conditions can be very harsh on moving components and its best to consult with your local dealer on what products will work best for the conditions in your area. Salt air and ice build-up can damage the lift. Outdoor units will require additional maintenance and care. But with the proper care, lifts such as the Savaria Multilift and V-1504 enclosure should endure many years of performance outside.
